Getting Results--Group Training

For sheer variety Pilates is unparalleled. With hundreds of Mat and Table exercises Body & Soul delivers a program that can truly transform your body. Pilates training can be applied in two primary formats: Reformer Tables and Mat work. The main principles of Pilates technique stay the same, but each format offers its own unique opportunities:

Table—Formally known as “reformers,” these tables are engineered to do just that, “reform” and restore your body. The Tables are ingeniously designed with a moving carriage on a horizontal frame, employing straps and springs to create resistance and tension. The resistance provided by the springs lengthens and strengthens muscles with far less soreness while developing a longer, leaner line for your body. Table classes offer a compelling and enjoyable, (yes, enjoyable) way to strength train, far from the gym scene. And with hundreds of exercises and easily adjustable settings, it’s a program that will adapt to all levels of fitness from novice to athlete, youth to senior.

Mat—Mat work consists of a series of exercises performed on the floor. Mat intensively works the core abdominal area by requiring active engagement throughout the exercise series. Due to its reliance on core strength, Mat can be a more challeging workout, with the results to prove it. Mat and Table in combination will have the most dramatic affect on your body. We recommend all our students incorporate Mat exercises into their program, not only to get even better results, but to increase their understanding of Pilates.

Group Classes--How it works
Upon successfully completing a Fundamental private session you may attend Beginner level classes. Our group class schedule offers a wide variety of class formats and times giving you the flexibility to attend classes that are right for you.

Purchase --Table or Mat classes are purchased in packages of 10, 20 and now 50 for ever increasing savings. Combination Mat and Table packages may also be purchased for a significant savings. Classes are debited against your package as they are used. Group classes are 55 minutes including set-up.

Sign-up/Cancellation--Upon purchasing a package of classes, you may sign up for any available opening as early as 3 weeks in advance. We do offer a wait list for each class and are almost always able to place students who are on the list into the class of their choice.

Due to the need to accommodate as many students as possible we have a gently enforced 24-hour cancellation policy for group classes and privates. Body & Soul reserves the option of cancelling a class if fewer than 3 students are registered. Students who are signed-up will be notified of any cancellations.

Late Cancellation Pass--Body & Soul has the most accommodating class purchase and cancellation policy of any Pilates venue we know, so please understand we will need to charge your package for late cancellations or no shows. However, because we also experience the same challenges associated with having a family, job and the “just plain unexpected” we offer a Late Cancellation Pass for every 10 classes purchased. You’ll receive more info on this benefit at purchase.
